Annual Report: 2020-21
Rajkiya Mahila Snatkottar Mahavidyalaya was established on 15th August 1978 by the Uttar Pradesh Government for public welfare. Initially, classes in this college were started with the enrolment of 34 students in seven subjects. Now the college is moving strongly on its 43rd step. At present, more than 2000 students are enrolled in the college. There are 12 full time professors, 05 third class and 12 fourth class employees are working in the college. Teaching at the graduate level is taking place in 13 subjects in the Faculty of Arts and 05 subjects in the Faculty of Science. In the Arts faculty, post graduate classes are being conducted in Hindi, Sociology, History, Urdu, Home Science and Education. M.A. in Hindi and Sociology is conducted since 1982.
The college has been granted recognition under Section 2 (f) and 12 (b) of the UGC, New Delhi. At present, the work of upgrading the basic facilities is going on under the National Higher Education Campaign. The construction work of the building for M.Sc. Botany has been completed and course is going to start in upcoming years.
It is the result of progressive efforts that this college has been selected as the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for higher education among the 10 government colleges of Uttar Pradesh. The college is determined to achieve the goal of quality in higher education. Moving towards this direction, CCTV cameras have been installed in the college, to conduct cheating free examinations, maintain discipline, run smooth classes and maintain transparency in serious issues like women’s safety. Monitoring through CCTV cameras was done from the principal’s room. As a result of the efforts of the diligent and hardworking Principal of the college, Dr. Deepali Gupta, a new phase of creative work has been started in the college. Presently she is working as the nodal in-charge of all the higher education colleges of the district.
Daughters are our pride and it is our priority to provide them better education and move them forward in a constructive direction. It is a pride moment that Hira Khanam, B.Sc. bio group student has obtained first position in Bundelkhand university by scoring 80% marks in the annual examination and she will receive Shree Ragghumal Jain Gold medal for securing maximum marks in the university. It is also a pleasure to inform you that many of our B.A., B.Sc. and M.A. students have appeared and secured position in top 10 students of the Bundelkhand University examination.
In view of the commendable work of the two working units of the National Service Scheme in college, Bundelkhand University has given recognition to running the third unit and the third unit of NSS has been formed under the direction of Dr. Ankita Tiwari. Before this, the first unit of the college was working under the direction of Dr. Sabiha Rahmani and the second unit was working under the direction of Jyoti Mishra. Dr. Sabiha Rahmani, the nodal in-charge of all the NSS units in the colleges of Banda district, has been honoured by the university for the service work done by the students during Covid-19. Under her direction, various competitions and symposiums were organized along with the oath taking ceremony on National Voters’ Day celebrated on 25th January 2021.
Various awareness generation programmes were conducted by ranger students during Covid-19 under the direction of Rangers in-charge Dr. Zeba Khan. The entire sanitization system was operated under her direction. Rangers’ students made masks themselves and distributed to the local people and door to door food items were also distributed. Under hes direction, Rangoli and Slogan competition was organized on Voters’ Day.
Under the direction of Dr. Vinod Singh Chandel, Assistant Professor of the Department of Physical Education, annual sports competitions were organized between 27 and 29th January, in which games like pole vault, hurdle race and hammer throw were also included. This year’s sports champion was Poonam Devi.
While talking about the academic and creative achievements of the teachers, a physics practical book has been published for B.Sc. third year students by Dr. Jitendra Kumar Sharma, Professor of Physics Department. He has completed two MOOCS courses of 4 months duration from IIT Kanpur. Dr. Maya Verma and Dr. Jai Kumar Chaurasia has also completed FDP courses in MOOCS. Among the teachers of the Arts Faculty, Dr. Shashibhushan Mishra, Dr. Jaiprakash Singh, Dr. Sapna Singh, Dr. Ankita Tiwari, Dr. Jyoti Mishra completed the two-week’s online FDP course organized by Ramanujan College of Delhi University. Dr. Maya Verma also organized an online seminar on the new education policy.
In this year, many notable works were done for the all-round development of students at the college level, including talent award and prize distribution ceremony under the direction of Dr. Jyoti Mishra, general knowledge competition and prize distribution ceremony under the direction of Dr. Shashibhushan Mishra, and poster competition on the topic of water conservation was concluded under the direction Dr. Sapna Singh. On the occasion of Nav Durga in the month of October, the students were given guidance and training through various programs under Mission Shakti programme. Various programs of Mission Shakti were completed with the help of co-nodal Dr. Vinod Singh Chandel, Rangers in-charge Dr Zeba Khan and NSS second unit in-charge Dr. Jyoti Mishra. Whereas other programs under Mission Shakti will be conducted till Vasant Navratri.
Physical and human resources play a mixed role in the development and progress of any organization. Despite limited material resources, it is our endeavour that this college plays an important role in building a knowledgeable society.
